Privacy Policy

At Carr Manor Support Services, we are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring that your personal information is handled securely and responsibly. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
Comments

When visitors leave comments on our site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string. This helps us detect and prevent spam.

An anonymised string (hash) created from your email address may be provided to the Gravatar service to check if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After your comment is approved, your profile picture (if used) will be visible to the public alongside your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images that contain embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors to the site may be able to download and extract location data from these images.

Cookies
  • If you leave a comment, you may choose to save your name, email address, and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so you do not need to re-enter your details when leaving another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
  • If you visit our login page, a temporary cookie will be set to check if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
    • When you log in, several cookies are set to save your login information and display preferences. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies for one year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will remain active for two weeks. Logging out will remove these cookies.
  • If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie contains no personal data and simply records the post ID of the article you edited. It expires after one day.
Embedded Content from Other Websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the same way as if you visited those websites directly.

These third-party websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that content — including if you have an account and are logged in to their website.

Who We Share Your Data With

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

How Long We Retain Your Data
  • If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This allows us to recognise and approve follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them for moderation.
  • For users who register on our site (if any), we store the personal information provided in their user profile. All users can view, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except usernames, which cannot be changed). Website administrators can also view and edit this information.
Your Rights Over Your Data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you may request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold.

This does not include data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where Your Data Is Sent

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
