Building Inclusive Cultures

At Carr Manor Community School, our inclusive journey began in 2005, with a commitment to never permanently exclude a child.

Since then, we have been embedding relational, restorative and trauma informed practice, so that every child has every chance with us. The culture of belonging that has emerged from this work has had a significant impact on both the adults and the children within the organisation.

How we built an inclusive culture

Building an inclusive culture requires a commitment to every child, every chance. It requires a prioritisation of inclusive values, even when working within a system that operates out of exclusive values. It requires a commitment to relationships and a commitment to working with. It is built on high challenge and high support.
